My name is Dan Weiss, and I’m a member of the 2022 and 2023 USA Archery Team. I compete in the Barebow Recurve Division.
I train and compete full time. I am a retired FBI Agent whose duties included firearms instruction.
I started practicing archery in late 2017 and did my first competition in the fall of 2018. In 2021 I decided to find out how well I would do at competing at a national level and earned a spot on the US Team on my first attempt and was nationally ranked second in my first year.
I have a long history of competing in various sports including Alpine Skiing, Road Cycling, Long Track Speedskating, Inline Racing, and Triathlon. Earning a spot on the USA Archery Team was the fulfillment of a long time childhood dream to be able to represent my country in sport and compete at the highest levels.
I compete in indoor target, outdoor target, field and 3D events. Field is my favorite.
